Located at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier, the Roundhouse Aquarium serves as the educational facility for the Oceanographic Teaching Stations. The aquarium is free to the public and houses viewing and touch tanks, each displaying a brilliant selection of marine fish and invertebrates to foster and promote the public study of, and interest in, the oceans, tidelands and beaches of Southern California. Roundhouse provides a learning environment for school field trips, travels to local schools to inform students about all aspects of marine life, and guides tide pool exploration excursions where students get the chance to observe and learn about marine organisms in their natural habitats. Roundhouse Aquarium teaches participants the importance of being good ocean stewards and the joys and responsibilities of human and ocean interactions. By imparting knowledge about animal anatomy and behavior, animal interaction, beach exploration and pollution awareness, the Roundhouse Aquarium is helping to keep Manhattan Beach a happy home to its citizens and its marine life. L.A. Creamery is proud to support Roundhouse Aquarium in its efforts to spread oceanic and environmental awareness.
